While I’ve been able to identify a lot of locations and airplane types, there are plenty of photos about which I have no idea. Some might be interesting to know about and some may be insignificant. Below and on the next page are a few that fit into this category.
This is a photo I pirated from the Internet labeled “Airview of Pan American Airport, Miami” It shows two Sikorsky flying boats nearby.
Below is Walter’s photo apparently taken from the terminal building showing the circle of automobiles and the hangar to the right with one of the Sikorsky flying boats.
On the left is Walter in his Pan Am uniform. I have no idea of the location.
On the right, a photo from the same folder sure looks like Charles Lindbergh to me.
Palm trees in both photos suggest somewhere in the tropics.
Here’s a couple that are apparently in South or Central America somewhere; I have no idea where.
Unless I’ve missed some photos of airplanes, Dad didn’t take too many in the later years. I tend to think it’s because airplanes had evolved from something exciting to just another form of transportation (and that’s a good thing).
