Our first apartment was in Hauppauge, New York.  We both worked at Grumman Aircraft and the apartment was not terribly far from work.  It was also far enough out on Long Island so the rent was reasonable.

To the right was our initial dining room.  Bench seat and TV tables.

Below, you might recognize the bedroom furniture.  Still got it!

You kids might recognize some of the stuff in these photos.  Like the stereo and the speakers. The dining room table is still here with us in Oregon.
